As promised, here’s the mid-week photo. Not particularly seasonal for Thanksgiving Day. Or is it?
It is, in fact, a holly leaf, photographed end-on. Holly is Christmas-y, but it’s also, here in the Pacific Northwest, a nasty invasive exotic, capable of growing in mature forests and crowding out natives. The local parks cut it down and dig it out, but it tends to reappear. Is that why the photo looks a little menacing, or did I just think that angle looked cool? Dunno. Ask my subconscious.
