What’s this? It’s the corner at the outer end of a viewing pier in a small park on the shore of Eliot Bay, in West Seattle. But what are those blurry things just beyond the fence? Do you really want to know?
I’m hoping they look a little mysterious, even unsettling. But, if you must know, this is a 30-second time exposure, made possible by a 10-stop neutral-density filter. The shapes are old pilings moving in the waves.
Or perhaps that was obvious to you from the beginning. And, I admit, the lighting is not optimal for mystery, late on a sunny August afternoon.
