River Bottom

Here’s something a little different. This is the edge of the Elwha River, by the Altair Campground, which is just downstream of the almost-gone Glines Canyon Dam. I’ve boosted the contrast, which has naturally increased the saturation a bit. I shot this to be wallpaper for my computer desktop at work, but I think it has merits beyond that. (I’ve made a series of wallpaper shots, all variations of flat textures — rock walls, vegetation-covered banks, cloudy skies. I like the idea of computer wallpaper as being like the original Mac desktops, which were flat textures, not pretty scenes.)
