Tray of Leaves

I was going to post another power-line photo, but I’ll give that theme a rest for at least today. This photo dates back all the way to November, 2009, not too long after I got my DSLR and restarted serious photography. These are knotweed leaves, yet another of our notorious invasives, but there’s nothing especially natural about this shot. I collected the leaves from a nearby bike trail, took them home, arranged them in an old 16×20 darkroom tray, and photographed them on my back deck under a light rain. If you look closely, you can see tiny droplets. I love the colors.

I remember this one. Beautiful color and shape. Do you feel like the print looks as good as it does on a screen?

    • I gave the print away, so I don’t have it for reference, but I remember it as being fairly successful.
