Thornton Creek below Lake City Way

20130310-IMG_6387

I’ve always liked this set of weirs on the south fork of Thornton Creek where it passes under Lake City Way. It feels like I’ve discovered a secret that the people on the busy road above are missing. I even saw a fish jump clear into the air from the rightmost middle pool while I was getting set up. Too bad it didn’t jump again while I had the shutter open, though it would just have been a blur.

Beautiful composition. It very effectively draws the viewer in with its use of perspective & vanishing point. Well done.
