Death in the Desert

Desert bighorn bones at Cottonwood Spring, which was almost dry.

Desert big-horn sheep bones (probably; there was plenty of sign of them around) near an almost dried-up spring in the desert east of Las Vegas. The only water was a few filthy inches in small hole in the dried mud. The hole looked like it had been dug by a hoof, presumably either a big-horn or a wild burro, which are also in the area. Not an especially pretty photo, but I find it compelling nonetheless.
